Upcycled Denim

So I am like every other quilter out there and my mind dashes around thinking about ideas and a recent one for me has been Upcycled Denim. With the rising costs of fabric and the endless supply chain issues that are going on I started to think about different options. With the world as it is and our need to take care of it I started looking into upcycling. The concept seemed interesting. So I found a way to get denim that had reached the end of life for the owner and I have started getting a supply of denim. I wash thoroughly and begin to process to use as fabric for a new quilt. I finished a set of blocks and one is shown in this post. I have another set of blocks that I am working on to play against these and will be sharing a finished quilt soon. It will be fun to see if there is a market for a quilt such as this. One of the great things is just like your favorite pair of jeans the fabric is strong but worn and can't wait to curl up on the sofa with one.
